Freeport LNG commissions Train 1 and Ships First Cargo

Freeport LNG shipped its initial liquified natural gas (LNG) shipment from its Freeport, Texas facility. Located on Quintana Island, the liquification plant processed 150,000 m3 of LNG and loaded it onto an LNG vessel, the Jurojin as part of the commissioning stage.

While this first shipment came from liquification Train 1, the second and third trains are expected to be operational in Q1 and Q2 of 2020, respectively.

The Founder, Chairman and CEO of Freeport LNG, Michael Smith stated, “We are very pleased that it took less than 45 days to load our first cargo since gas was first introduced to our liquefaction facilities.”
