German LNG Terminal completes selection for EPC tender process

German LNG Terminal has selected the Spanish-German partnership Cobra Instalaciones y Servicios, Sener Ingeniería y sistemas, and TGE Gas Engineering as an exclusive candidate for the final phase of the tender procedure for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract. The selected partnership members have extensive experience in oil and gas projects, having been involved in several liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal projects in Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium and the Netherlands.

A comprehensive value-improvement exercise and a detailed price actualization will be carried out to make the project more cost-efficient. A binding EPC contract is expected to be concluded by the end of 2020. The detailed design and engineering work, necessary to develop purchase orders of long-lead products, can then be started. At the same time, German LNG Terminal is in the process of completing the permit application for the planning of the port infrastructure, including the waterside facilities.

The terminal will provide a range of services, including loading and unloading of LNG carriers, temporary storage of LNG, regasification, injection into the German natural gas grid and distribution by road and rail.

Vendors of equipment or potential subcontractors who are interested in the next phases of the project are invited to contact Cobra’s and Sener´s head offices in Madrid.
