Petronet LNG Limited INDIA (PLL) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) regarding interest in investing in Tellurian Inc’s Driftwood project. The project is expected to include LNG terminal as well as have the capabilities for gathering, producing, processing and transporting natural gas.
The Driftwood project will be near Lake Charles, Louisiana and will connect to a facility using the Driftwood Pipeline. The final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) has been delivered and construction is expected to kickoff in 2019 after final investment decisions are made.
Petronet is the leading LNG importer in India and is continuing to grow their existing 20 million tons per annum (mtpa). Tellurian’s President and CEO, Meg Gentle, stated “We support Petronet’s vision to be a key energy provider to India and look forward to delivering clean, low-cost and reliable natural gas from Driftwood LNG.”
