Singapore LNG names new CEO

Singapore LNG Corporation Pte Ltd (SLNG) names Tan Soo Koong as the company’s new CEO as of April 2, 2019. Mr. Koong’s predecessor, John Ng, left the position in December.

Mr. Koong will join SLNG with three decades of prior experience. Most recently, Mr. Koong was responsible for five terminals while working for Vopak Terminals Singapore. Prior to taking such a significant role at Vopak, Mr. Koong served manager of operations and business and manufacturing lead at Titan Petrochemicals’ Olefins & Aromatics Business Unit and General Electric SEA respectively.

Tang Kin Fei, Chairman of SLNG, stated, “Soo Koong brings to SLNG a wealth of operational, technical and commercial experience in terminalling, production and manufacturing. He is also recognized within the industry as being a balanced, visionary and authentic leader,”. Mr. Fei goes on to say that Mr. Koong is expected to ultimately lead Singapore to becoming the region’s hub for LNG.
