Cameron LNG’s first Train reaches final stages of Commissioning

LNG Train 1 at the Cameron LNG project reached the final stages of commissioning. McDermott International, Inc. and Chiyoda International Corporation jointly handle the engineering, procurement and construction for the Cameron project in Hackberry, Louisiana.

As part of the final commission, gas was introduced to the train from the pipeline. Ultimately, this will lead to liquified natural gas (LNG) output, ready for export.

The Senior Vice President for North, Central and South America at McDermott, Mark Coscio commented, “Once Train 1 is fully operational, it will have the capacity to produce 4 million tonnes of LNG per year.” Mr. Coscio also highlighted the “remarkable safety performance.”

Overall, Cameron LNG will consist of three trains, expected to produce 12 million tons per annum (MTPA) of LNG.
