Western Finland now has access to Biogas and LNG Fueling

Gasum opened the new Seinäjoki filling station at Piirturinväylä 1 for commercial use. Drivers of both heavy duty and passenger vehicles now have access to biogas and natural gas fuel sources in western Finland.

Gasum opened the new station to meet growing demand for gas-powered transport vehicles. Gasum’s Senior Sales Manager, Traffic noted that the new fueling station may incentivize transport companies to add more environmentally friendly vehicles to their fleets.

Additionally, the fuel Gasum provides at the Seinäjoki filling station is both cost effective and significantly cleaner than traditional fuels. Benefits of natural gas and biogas include reduced greenhouse gas emissions, lower particulate and nitrogen oxide output, as well as decreased noise pollution.

Further highlighting demand in the region, the Managing Director of Huhtala Logistics Oy stated, “As forerunners in the logistics sector, we want to be leading the way for cleaner transport and utilize low-emission fuel alternatives as soon as they become available. The use of liquefied natural gas (LNG) will reduce our company’s emissions while at the same time the competitive price of the fuel will provide us with a valuable competitive advantage.”

By introducing biogas and LNG to the transport infrastructure in the region, strict national and international emissions standards can be met.
